Description

RISE Inc. a 30 year old growth oriented non-profit multi-state organization with annual revenues of $100MM serving the developmentally disabled community is seeking a Compensation Specialist to work in our Draper UT Mesa AZ Boise ID or Salem OR corporate candidate will provide organized and detail-oriented analyticalsupport for Human Resources as well asmultiple entities. Starting salary is $50000 a year.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Understand competitors in each market area by position. Makes recommendation on new competitors and competitors that have left the market.
  • Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job organizational and occupational information including duties responsibilities and skills required by each job.
  • Benchmarks jobs monthly against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Prepares and maintains competitor dashboards.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation / benefits analysis information.
  • Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
  • Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee negotiations.
  • Researches employee benefits in similar industries; based on findings recommends changes or updates to the companys existing benefits or policies.
  • Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations benefits and compensation policies human resource procedures and collective agreements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES AS A TEAM MEMBER:

  • Takes personal responsibility for actions which is demonstrated through owning and solving failures/problems not projecting them onto other sources
  • Demonstrates excellence in work standards and is tenacious in completing tasks
  • Able to effectively problem solve and make decisions to include resolving crisis situations and developing resolutions between internal and external parties
  • Works well with other team members and departments to accomplish mutual goals and prepare assignments on time
  • Able to ask for support and help as needed
  • Ensures effectiveness in processes to achieve and seek best practices

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Excellent customer relationship skills that effectively and respectfully interact with internal and external customers
  • Communicate effectively whether in individual group settings or in written correspondence using professional polite respectful and accurate grammatical language
  • Be an active listener who can recount the information conveyed by writing an objective report of what was told
  • Read and interpret written information including laws and regulations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of human resource laws regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Human Resources or related field required.
  • HR certification preferred (SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP PHR SPHR
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a compensation analyst required.

EQUIPMENT NORMALLY USED:

  • Telephone and headset computer thin client scanner printer multiple screens fax tools. Wiring and other equipment as needed.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without accommodation.

  • The employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time entering data and analyzing data in a system. The employee is regularly required to use their fingers hands arms and eyes to analyze and input data into system.
  • The employee is frequently required to speak to and appropriately respond to customers both internal and external either on the phone or in-person including at meetings or in presentations.
  • The employee is frequently required to operate and maintain a variety of office computer related telecommunications and multimedia equipment. The employee is required to use their hands fingers arms back and eyes as well as be able to bend stoop kneel walk twist and lift on a regular basis.
  • Vision ability is required to do the job including close vision far vision and color vision as well as the ability to adjust focus.
  • The ability to work under stressful conditions that may require dealing with difficult people while handling multiple work assignments with specific deadlines
