Job Description

A respected leader in the building materials industry is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Water Truck Driver Equipment Operator to support operations at its plant site. This critical role is responsible for operating a water truck to control dust and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Operate a water truck along designated routes within the plant to spray water for dust suppression and dirt control.
  • Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance on the water truck including checking fluid levels brakes and tires.
  • Monitor dust levels and adjust spraying frequency or routes as needed to ensure site safety and visibility.
  • Assist with operating a front-end loader or other equipment as needed based on plant demands.
  • Perform routine walkarounds to identify unsafe or faulty equipment conditions and report maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Support general site maintenance including light landscaping cleanup and ground prep when required.
  • Follow all safety procedures and plant protocols including proper use of PPE radios and participation in daily workplace inspections.
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs and documentation of daily tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams including operations production and safety.
  • Work flexible hours or shifts as required to meet production goals and weather-related needs.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have valid CDL Class A or B
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience operating a water truck/.
  • Front-end loader experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to operate equipment in varying terrain and weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of safe vehicle operation inspection and basic maintenance practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor conditions with exposure to dust heat and noise.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA/MSHA regulations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
