Job Description
The DPRs National Innovation Team is seeking an individual who is interested in becoming a Regional Innovation Leader for DPRs Southeast Region (includes but not limited to the States of Florida Georgia Tennessee North Carolina and South Carolina). In this position you will be responsible for working cross-functionally to gather nurture grow and develop innovative programs and will be a local resource between regional and national innovation efforts. This role will require travel to local projects and business units throughout the Southeast Region.
Responsibilities:
- Support develop and drive potentially disruptive innovations forward from various stages of development (conceptual incubation implementation etc.) at local and national levels.
- Promote open innovation and encourage group or crowdsourcing tools and processes that inspire creative thinking.
- Support regional business units with new grass-root product/service initiatives and facilitator for scaling up these pockets of innovation across the enterprise.
- Help direct funding and internal investments for pilot programs to test latest technology trends and market disruptions.
- Help guide coach and mentor local innovation teams through pilot programs and initiatives.
- Help with documentation and communication of pilot programs at the project regional and national levels.
- Aid in developing and running DPRs IdeaMill (Innovation platform) to crowdsource ideas at a regional and national levels.
- Ensure that ideas/initiatives are being handled by the correct functional group for scaling and implementation.
- Strategically guide/lead initiatives the Innovation Group is pursuing and determine whether they align with DPRs Strategic Areas of Focus. This includes industry research discovering technology trends and determining their value to DPRs core business.
- Develop strategic partnerships with startups and outside vendors that align with DPRs core values Innovation goals objectives and strategy.
- Work cross functionally with other DPR work groups (Information Technology Construction Technology Operations Preconstruction etc.).
- Participate in Corporate Innovation meetings workshops and initiatives; will require travel outside of your region.
- Promote and lead a culture of Innovation within DPRs Southeast Region; building relationships with regional leadership project teams and craft personnel.
Role Expectations:
- Create a consistent/recurring touch point with geographic region operations and preconstruction leaders.
- Strategically align innovation support for projects in geographic region and bring value to key/target customers and projects.
- Support DPRs Idea Competition and break-through idea support.
- Support local Innovation leaders with pilot/idea management for geographic region and align with Operations and Preconstruction business plans.
- Identify a project/regional highlight for the Innovation Toolbox page (DPR intranet).
- Support the documentation process of technology/product/innovations DPR has piloted and curate in a shareable format to projects region and national teams.
- Quarterly craft focused effort bringing quick innovations to the field.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8-10 years of working experience in the construction industry.
- Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving technology environment.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to break down complex processes and apply design thinking and lean principles for solving business and project challenges.
- Ability to work independently with various leadership and peer groups.
- Exceptional understanding of various construction technologies.
- Photo and video capturing/editing capabilities (not required but desired).
