Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Seeking an experienced procurement professional to source evaluate and purchase ferrous &
non-ferrous metal scrap (e.g. steel aluminum copper) from recyclers traders and industries
across Hyderabad and Telangana. The role reports to the Purchase Manager or Head of
Procurement.

Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Supplier Development
Identify and onboard scrap-metal suppliers-local recyclers dismantlers demolition
yards industrial units.
Build and expand a network of reliable vendors focused on quality and consistent
supplies.
Inspection Sorting & Grading
Visit yards or supplier sites inspect scrap materials and accurately grade them (ferrous
vs non-ferrous alloys contamination).
Ensure correct categorization for efficient processing and pricing.
Negotiation & Purchasing
Negotiate competitive prices payment terms and delivery schedules.
Issue purchase orders maintain contract documentation and ensure compliance
GST norms and local regulations.
Logistics & Inventory Coordination.

Quality & Compliance Assurance
Ensure scrap meets quality & environmental compliance standards (e.g. contamination
hazardous materials).
Maintain records for audits internal controls and regulatory purposes.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Track metal market rates-LME domestic benchmark-and external factors influencing
prices.
Maintain procurement data: volumes costs savings and supplier evaluation metrics.
Risk Management & Cost Optimization
Hedge procurement through contract terms or spot purchases aligned with market
trends.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies.
Required Skills & Experience
Educational: Bachelors in Commerce Business Engineering or related field.
MBA is a plus.
Proven Experience: 3 6 years in metal scrap recycling foundry or heavy Industry
procurement.
Technical Know-how: Able to grade scrap understand alloy characteristics use
measuring tools (e.g. calipers).
Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to secure favorable prices and terms.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with GST weight/quality certification local
environmental regulations.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication relationship-building analytical thinking and
problem-solving.
Technical Tools: Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems; exposure to sourcing
software is a bonus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in both ferrous (iron/steel) and non-ferrous (aluminum copper alloys)
scrap procurement.
Hyderabad/Telangana network with scrap vendors and logistics partners.
Knowledge of scrap-metal pricing benchmarks and market intelligence sources.
Plumbing or heavy equipment technical background is a plus.
KPIs & Performance Metrics
Cost savings against benchmark rates.
Supplier delivery timeliness (% on-time).
Quality rejection rate (% of loads failing grade).
Inventory turnover and lead-time improvements.
Monitor stock levels to support production needs and avoid interruptions.
