Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Principal the Preschool Lead Teacher/Director is responsible for leading a full-day preschool program throughout the school year while ensuring compliance with Michigan LARA licensing requirements. We are seeking a passionate and dependable early childhood educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings joy creativity and faith into the classroom each day.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement engaging developmentally appropriate lessons that support all areas of a childs growth: cognitive social emotional physical and spiritual.
Create a faith-filled welcoming classroom environment that fosters joy wonder and a love for learning.
Maintain open positive communication with parents through regular updates evaluations and parent-teacher conferences.
Lead daily routines activities and transitions to promote structure and independence.
Foster meaningful relationships with children and families while modeling respect patience and empathy.
Encourage self-direction and positive behavior through consistent Christ-centered guidance.
Supervise classroom aides and provide leadership support and collaboration.
Ensure a safe clean and nurturing learning environment that meets all health safety and licensing requirements.
Collaborate with colleagues attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.
Maintain all necessary student records lesson plans and licensing documentation.
Uphold the mission of St. Martha School through daily interactions and overall program management.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education Elementary Education (with early childhood endorsement) Child Development or related field. Associate degrees may be considered with relevant experience.
CPR First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Completion of Protecting Gods Children training (Diocese requirement).
Ability to pass a criminal background check and tuberculosis test.
Strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills.
A genuine love of children and commitment to Catholic values.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit on the floor stand bend stoop and actively engage with young children at their level.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and move easily between floor and standing positions.
Full-time onsite presence required Monday through Friday.
