Postion Overview
The IT & Operations Manager is a key member of the schools operational team reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This role is responsible for managing and supporting the day-to-day technology and operational infrastructure of the school ensuring that students staff and classrooms are equipped with the tools and resources they need to function efficiently and effectively.The IT & Operations Manager provides frontline IT support for hardware software and network issues while also contributing to the overall operational flow of the building including support for facilities logistics and campus position requires a proactive problem-solver with strong technical knowledge attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced mission-driven environment.This is a 12-month exempt position that may occasionally require working outside of normal business hours.
Key Responsibilities and duties:
- Technical support and management:
- Oversee network infrastructure including servers access points security cameras building access system and 3CX phone system.
- Support all staff in the use of hardware and software applications.
- Manage staff and student user accounts.
- Ensure key instructional applications such as Clever are properly set up.
- Manage tech support tickets providing troubleshooting as needed.
- Assist families as needed with tech support with school issued devices and ParentSquare (sending invitations to new families; assisting with ParentSquare onboarding and tech support).
- Perform high-level administrator role for most learning and operational applications.
- Serve as back-up content manager for the public website.
- Manage the schools technology assets devices and peripherals including the on going inventory distribution and collection of devices for home learning as needed. Note the school uses AssetPanda.
- Provide standardized testing support. Specifically ensuring properly configured devices are available and leading the overall development of a testing schedule in coordination with instructional teams.
- Ensure copiers are in good working order and properly maintained.
- Google support - administer Google G Suite systems.
- Play a key role in the on- and off-boarding of staff related to computers IDs and building access cards.
- Policies/guidelines (accountability and incentive structures):
- Ensure that technology tools are being used safely and responsibly including oversight and administration of GoGuardian.
- Procurement:
- Provide recommendations for the purchase and acquisition of new technology and equipment.
- Funding:
- Help define manage and monitor an annual IT budget in collaboration with the COO.
- Manage and collaborate with external technology support services including e-rate administration.
- Perform other duties as required; examples include but are not limited to:
- Provide coverage at the front desk as needed.
- Assist with event set-up and breakdown.
- Assist with morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in a related area of study that prepares the candidate to perform the required tasks is preferred equivalent work experience will be considered.

Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with G Suite for Education including experience as a Super User.
- Experience with Clever Zoom PowerSchool and Go Guardian or similar web filtering applications.
- Experience with Airtable and PaperCut print management software.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with DC OSSE systems.
- CompTIA A and/or Network.
- Google Career Certificate in IT.
