Job Description

The Director of Recruitment and Admissions for the College of Graduate Studies is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract and enroll graduate students analyzing data and market trends and establishing recruitment targets. This role involves collaborating on budget allocation traveling to recruitment events building relationships with institutions and coordinating campus visits and virtual recruitment activities. The Director will oversee application management provide personalized support to applicants and develop yield strategies to convert admitted students to enrolled. Additionally they will track enrollment metrics generate reports and provide data-driven recommendations for process improvements while ensuring a smooth transition for new students. This position requires both in and out of state travel.

Strategic Leadership and Recruitment Outreach (35%)

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for graduate recruitment that are aligned with institutional goals
  • Analyze enrollment data market trends and competitor landscape to inform recruitment initiatives
  • Establish annual recruitment targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - measurable goals such as application numbers completion rates yield rates and geographic/demographic metrics
  • Collaborate with the budget manager on resource allocation and recruitment expenses.
  • Travel to recruitment fairs graduate school expos and partner institutions
  • Attend and present at national academic conferences and professional associations
  • Build and maintain relationships with undergraduate institutions and faculty advisors
  • Coordinate campus visit programs information sessions and program-specific events
  • Develop partnerships with international and domestic feeder institutions

Virtual and Digital Recruitment (15%)

  • Design and host virtual open houses webinars and online information sessions
  • Implement and optimize recruitment Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for prospect management
  • Provide content requirements and event specifications to Marketing Specialist
  • Share recruitment insights with Marketing Specialist for campaign development

Application Management and Review Coordination (25%)

  • Monitor application progress and identify incomplete applications
  • Implement systematic follow-up protocols for incomplete applications
  • Provide personalized outreach to guide applicants through completion process
  • Track and improve application completion rates
  • Work with program directors and managers throughout the application review process
  • Support program managers with interview logistics and technical setup as needed

Relationship Building and Personalized Support (15%)

  • Establish meaningful connections with prospective students from first inquiry
  • Provide individualized guidance throughout the application process
  • Create touchpoint schedule to maintain engagement with prospects and applicants
  • Respond promptly to inquiries with personalized helpful information
  • Develop strategies to make each applicant feel valued and special
  • Create supportive communications that make applicants feel valued and welcomed

Yield Management and Student Success (10%)

  • Develop and execute yield strategies to convert admitted students to enrolled
  • Assist program managers with on-campus visit coordination
  • Track enrollment metrics and implement interventions as needed
  • Maintain regular contact with admitted students through enrollment
  • Participate in new student orientation sessions to ensure smooth transition
  • Follow up with new students during first weeks to ensure successful start
  • Generate reports on recruitment metrics application completion rates and enrollment trends
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for process improvements
  • Support institutional reporting requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: A masters degree and three years experience in student services programs.
