We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our products. As a key member of the quality team you will conduct thorough inspections and assessments to ensure our products meet strict quality standards. You will collaborate closely with management and team members to foster a culture of quality and teamwork within the department and across the manufacturing floor.

Your analytical skills and attention to detail will help identify areas for improvement allowing you to contribute to the continuous enhancement of our processes. In this role you will assess products and processes against defined criteria using established procedures to maintain consistent quality. You will also have the opportunity to participate in refining quality standards and process improvements to ensure the overall success and efficiency of the manufacturing facility and its operations.

Requirements


  • Inspect audit and report on materials services processes and products using measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with the companys quality standards.
  • Enter data and maintain paper and electronic quality records where required.
  • Represent Wagstaff and the Quality Assurance Team when interacting with co-workers auditors customers suppliers and visitors.
  • Communicate with co-workers customers and suppliers on quality-related issues as directed by the QA Manager.
  • Assists in maintaining and creating team documentation
  • Prepare inspection sheets for use by Quality or Production.
  • Collect monitor organize report and distribute data as it relates to the functions of the Quality department.
  • Prepare and present reports for the Quality Department and company use.
  • Abide by company policies.
  • Cross-train other employees in Receiving and Mechanical Inspection as requested.
  • Assist with specialized inspections.
  • To achieve business objectives working weeks of over 40 hours may be required.
  • Assist in statistical studies and analysis.
  • Participate in conducting internal quality audits.
  • Participates in problem-solving and continuous improvement projects (Corrective Action and Preventive Action teams)

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate of Arts degree in a technical discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum of five (5) years Quality Assurance work experience including five (5) years of experience in manufacturing
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States is required
  • CMM inspection experience
  • Dimensional inspection experience using conventional measuring devices (calipers thread gages micrometers etc.)
  • Experience with AS 9100 ISO 9001 or similar Quality Assurance standards
  • Familiar with quality management systems root cause analysis and non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques
  • Mechanical inspection skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and experience/education in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
  • Knowledge of typical manufacturing processes including welding conventional and CNC milling and turning

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • PolyWorks software experience
  • Quality certifications such as an ASW Certified Quality Inspector or ASQ Certified Quality Technician
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Experience working in a machine shop and production environment

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience and/or education in SPC Statistics and/or Sampling
  • NDE or weld inspection experience

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job work is primarily performed in an adequately lit well-ventilated and climate-controlled general office environment. Close computer work is regularly required. The work usually involves minimal physical exertion. The noise level in the general office environment is usually moderate.

This job may require occasional or more frequent interaction with employees on the manufacturing shop floor. While on the shop floor employees may be exposed to fumes airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals risks associated with moving equipment and parts and other hazards inherent to a manufacturing environment. Due to this environment and associated risks coordination with shop floor managers and employees may be necessary before entering the shop floor and the use of job-appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required on the shop floor. The noise level on the shop floor is often loud.
