• Lead and oversee all accounting budgeting forecasting and financial reporting functions.
• Provide strategic financial leadership and insights into the executive leadership team.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to track financial health and drive performance.
• Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Manage relationships with banks bonding companies auditors insurance providers and tax advisors.
• Monitor cash flow job cost controls and financial performance across all projects.
• Compares profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
• Support the estimating and project management teams with financial analysis margin control and cost forecasting.
• Oversee and support long-range financial planning and capital expenditure decisions.
• Supervise accounting staff ensuring professional development and cross-training.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance field required
• Masters degree in Accounting Finance or Business Administration preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience with at least 5 years being in the construction industry. Heavy civil highway industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting and job costing.
• Proven experience in leading financial strategy and operations for a privately held business. Experience working with construction ERP systems (e.g. Viewpoint Vista Sage 300 or similar). Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to effectively communicate.
• High integrity and commitment to ethical financial stewardship.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
• Ability to follow and adhere to established safety procedures.
• Knowledge of DOT-funded project requirements and public infrastructure contracts preferred.
