Information Session:Interested candidates are invited to an information session to learn more about the expectations for the Deputy Fire Chief role as well as selection process preparation. The information session will be held on Tuesday June 24 2025 at 1:00pm at 1541 Second Street Napa CA 94559.If you would like to attend the Information Session virtually via Microsoft Teams then please emailfor instructions on how to participate remotely.Education/Experience:
Anycombinationofeducationexperienceandtrainingthatwouldprovidethebestqualified candidates. A typical way of gaining the knowledge skills and abilities would be:
Possession of the equivalent of a of bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in fire science fire administration public administration or a closely related field is required.
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in emergency services including at least one year experience as a Battalion Chief or equivalent position at time of appointment.
SpecialRequirements:
Possession at time of hire and continued maintenance of a valid California Class C drivers license is required. Certification as a Chief Fire Officer by the California State Fire Marshal is required.
