Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a dynamic and experienced Villa Manager for a luxury boutique hotel based in Mozambique. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of international luxury hospitality and someone who embodies the ethos of understated authentic and effortless service delivery.
The ideal candidate will understand how to create an environment where guests enjoy a relaxed yet sophisticated stay one that feels like a welcoming home away from home. A keen eye for detail high levels of organisation and a solution-driven mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all guest relations including pre-arrival communication welcome and orientation and daily guest engagement
Ensure a consistent and seamless guest experience that is professional yet relaxed and true to its Mozambican setting
Provide daily leadership and oversight for a team of 8 10 staff including training and development to uphold 5-star standards
Create implement and manage operational systems for housekeeping inventory public areas and suite readiness
Work alongside and mentor assistant managers to support staff development
Oversee basic catering stock control procurement and consumption reporting
Manage staff leave rosters ensuring optimal coverage and compliance with leave policies
Monitor food quality and punctuality of meal services; maintain high standards in taste and presentation
Act as the main point of contact for owner requests providing timely updates and proactive solutions
Ensure regular maintenance and upkeep of the property through detailed inspections and task delegation
Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party suppliers and service providers
Collaborate with on-site teams such as the estate manager and accountant
Maintain a strong presence on the property while balancing visibility and discretion
Requirements:
Previous experience in hospitality management preferably at Department Head level (F&B Guest Relations or Housekeeping)
Proven ability to create and implement practical operational systems
High emotional intelligence with a positive can-do attitude
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and uplift junior staff
Organised and capable of working systematically across multiple operational areas
Confident in delegation providing guidance and oversight as needed
Fluent in English; Portuguese would be an advantage
A collaborative team player comfortable working in a close-knit environment
Willingness to be hands-on and take ownership of the full guest experience
