Enrichment and Supervision - PM Associate Position

The Harker School is currently searching for a afternoon Associate to join our Middle School Enrichment and Supervision Team for the 2025-2026 school year.

Position Summary:This is a part-time position for the 2025-2026 academic school year. Hours of work will be a minimum of 25 hours a week with a sample work schedule of Mon- Fri 1:00pm to 6:30 pm. Hours may vary depending on department needs. This position begins on August 18 2025 and the incumbent is expected to work all school days through the last day of the school year which ends on June 4 2026. There are no benefits associated with this position.

Expected hourly range: $17.95 - $23.50/hour

Minimum Qualification Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.

• Must have current certification in both first aid and CPR. If not the employee will attend class(es) provided by Harker.

• Must have prior experience working with children.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Model positive behavior and interactions that align with school values and expectations.
• Supervise and lead after-school staff in planning and executing AMP Activities Fun Friday events and weekly flyers.
• Engage and supervise students in a safe inclusive and supportive environmentboth indoors (e.g. study hall teen center) and outdoors.
• Plan and implement creative age-appropriate activities that promote student growth engagement and development.
• Maintain a nurturing and respectful atmosphere that supports emotional and social well-being.
• Serve as a positive adult role model demonstrating leadership enthusiasm and school spirit.
• Oversee student safety during lunch after-school hours and until the last student departs; assist with shuttle supervision and traffic direction.
• Build strong professional relationships with students staff and families.
• Communicate effectively and consistently with supervisors staff and students.
• Attend required training related to adolescent emotional and social development.
• Promote professionalism through punctuality dress communication and work ethic.
• Ensure proper reporting and safety protocols including timely submission of accident reports.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to communicate and work with groups of all age and skill levels and provide necessary direction and instruction to students
• Must have ability to work independently work with others and work with guidance of supervisor
• Must be self-motivated

• Ability to adapt to change and handle multiple situations and tasks
• Must maintain a positive attitude and professional outlook
• Ability to communicate in effective English with staff parents and children
• Ability to observe student behavior assess its appropriateness enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques
• Physical and emotional ability to respond to situations requiring first aid and emergency situations
• Ability to remain standing for extended periods (up to 3 hours at a time)
• Capable of working in a variety of weather and climate conditions
• Physically able to lift carry or hold items weighing 10 pounds or more

Working Conditions

No hazardous or unpleasant working conditions. Climate elements must be withstood (IE wearing sunscreen on warm days) as well as prolonged standing.
