Job/Department Summary:
Graduation Advising and Transfer Credit Specialists (GATCS) provide developmental guidance and advising to students nearing graduation transfer students and students returning after an absence. Services are offered on a drop-in referral or appointment basis as well as through workshops seminars and pop-up graduation events. Graduation Advising and Transfer Credit Specialists perform related activities in support of the Universitys focus on student success retention and graduation as well as the Universitys and Chancellors Initiatives. Working under the general direction of the Assistant Registrar for Graduation and Articulation incumbent performs complex professional student services work applying both knowledge and judgment to independently resolve problems and accomplish tasks often after extensive research. The GATCS utilizes a high degree of knowledge of state system and campus specific policies procedures and regulations to make determinations on and adjustments to student records to reflect appropriate application of academic credit specifically in relation to degree completion. Utilizing a combination of resourcefulness interpersonal skills and personal student contact the GATCS helps students understand plan and strategize for academic success working on problems from the investigation and analysis stage through the solution and implementation stage. The GATCS serves as a collaborative resource to the campus community regarding information related to academic credit policies and the awarding of degrees.
Required Education and Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences public or business administration or a job-related field.
AND
Two years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.
*A Masters degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. Additional specialized experience which demonstrates the applicant has successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of a Student Services professional may also be substituted for required education on a year-for year basis.

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $60996 - $86736 per year.
