Job Objectives and Job Summary:The Facilities Coordinator is a position shared between Head Start and Administration. This position will have two supervisors the Head Start Director for Head Start and the Finance Director for Administration. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all SEVCAs buildings and locations and includes performing some maintenance duties as well as coordination. They ensure the facilities materials and equipment are maintained to create a safe and age-appropriate learning environment for children. They also ensure that the work environments for staff are safe and comfortable. This position requires the skillset to perform general carpentry projects. Primary Responsibilities:General (Head Start and Administration)Participate in regular supervision with the Head Start Director/Finance and comply with all OSHA guidelines regarding hazardous materials. Monitor the operating condition of fire extinguishers sprinkler systems fire/smoke alarm systems and schedule yearly StartEnsure that yard/lawns and building maintenance for Chester Springfield and Windsor Head Start locations are play areas are maintained including all structures are in working order and bark mulch on playgrounds measures 8 inches at all buildings for snow shoveling at Windsor Springfield and Westminster as a liaison between plow companies for all sites to ensure effective plowing happens as conditions warrant and in a timely manner. Schedule cleaning of the floors and carpets at all Head Start centers during the Winter break and after the program closes in monthly walk-throughs at each Head Start facility to ensure safety checks are completed (emergency lights fire extinguishers fire safety panels safety plugs in all outlets no dangling cords no trip hazards).Complete monthly Maintenance Report for Head Start Director by the 5th of each month for the month prior. Complete all maintenance requests sent to you and send completed maintenance form back to Head Start Director for Head Start and Finance Director for to all Head Start Performance Standards Vermont State Licensing Regulations and the SEVCA Personnel Policies and Procedures and the Head Start Program Policies and ProceduresOther duties as building maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance schedules. Perform light repairs and maintenance tasks such as fixing minor plumbing issues replacing light bulbs basic electrical work and simple with contractors vendors and service providers. Monitor HVAC lighting plumbing and electrical systems. Ensure compliance with building codes and safety Conditions:This is a full-time hourly position. It entails working in a variety of environments inside and out as well as using a variety of tools and equipment. Some computer use is also required. The Facility Coordinator is based at the Pine Street Preschool in Springfield for Head Start and will travel to Chester and Windsor sites in the service area when needed. Mileage will be reimbursed when traveling to Chester or Facility Coordinator is also based in Westminster when working for will be paid for by Head Start or Administration depending on where travel is needed. Schedule: 3 days for Head Start and 2 days Administration each week alternating each week; flexibility with emergencies and priority projects will be supported. Training and education may be supported in part by the evaluation of employee performance will be performed annually.
