The opportunity

Our Managed Services business is growing rapidly. We are building a team of commercial management experts. This team will be tasked with developing and executing innovative commercial management strategies processes policies and procedures to enable us to price and manage our managed services engagements competitively and profitably.

The Commercial Architect (Manager) in GCR role is a key position in EYs commercial transformation. This role focuses on providing pricing and commercial strategies for the largest highest-risk and most complex outsourcing contract pursuits within EY. You will play an integral role in defining implementing and operating leading practice commercial management solutions for a variety of managed services engagements with the objective of accelerating revenue growth and margin expansion.

Your key responsibilities

• Large Contracts Pursuits Commercial Support:Provide oversight for large contracts pursuits from qualification to close including: solutioning pricing scenario analysis and mitigation of financial risks through the adequate design of commercial terms and conditions.
• Building Relationships:Build trust-based relationships and influence decision-making across internal and client stakeholders contributing to positive outcomes that unlock client value and enhance EY revenue and margin.
• Shaping Opportunities:Shape opportunities by integrating client and competitor intelligence value estimates and innovative commercial structures to create compelling proposals that align with the clients willingness to pay.
• Collaboration:Collaborate with domain experts to align solution design with client response requirements estimate the forecasted cost-to-serve integrate costing guidance and standards and document assumptions concisely.
• Advanced Analytics:Leverage advanced analytics dashboards and tools to rapidly develop test and refine a pursuits pricing strategy positioning and offer design.
• Risk Management:Identify communicate and manage competitive and commercial risks through proactive collaboration with stakeholders.

Skills and attributes for success

• Education:Masters in Business (or equivalent) in finance banking accounting mathematics statistics or a similar field preferably supported by a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA CPA CIMA CFA etc.)
• Professional Experience:A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience with at least 5 years in a complex financial management role (e.g. professional services strategy consulting investment banking financial planning and analysis corporate development SaaS/cloud commercialization or pricing)
• Pursuit Life Cycle Understanding:A proven track record of supporting (or leading) contract negotiations in a multinational environment
• Other Qualifications:Proficiency in MS Excel financial modelling accounting budgeting and commercial management as well as strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with client C-suite and EY senior stakeholders with the ability to articulate commercial risks and mitigations coherently.

Ideally youll also have

• Economic Understanding:Deep understanding of macro and microeconomic environments and trends that affect current and potential EY client industries and businesses
• Pricing Strategies:Experience with various pricing strategies applicable to professional services including cost- client value- client willingness-to-pay- and competition-driven assessments
• Value Estimation:Knowledge of economic value estimation modelling including inherent and relative value assessment
• Client Decision Making:Understanding of the client decision-making process and how value journeys and value tables can provide insight into a clients willingness to pay
• Behavioral Economics:Familiarity with key behavioral economic insights affecting purchasing decisions.
