Job Description

POSITION #223-CLS-06-25:

Para-Educator - Intervention Support

NewberryElementary School

5.89 hours per day /191 days per year

Salary: $19.99 - $22.44 per hour

DESCRIPTION:Work under the direction of certificated staff to provide specialized intervention instruction or identified students focusing on Reading and Math intervention. Assist in administering specific appropriate assessments. Attend in-service trainings and meetings as appropriate. Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum AA degree or equivalent (72 college credits) or passed PRAXIS test required. Strong English background required. Bilingual preferred. Understanding of mathematics concepts. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to take direction well. Experience working with elementary-age children preferred. Ability to work as a team player and understand the needs of elementary school students. Ability to relate well to students parents and staff. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.

- 219 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave 2 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

220 - 259 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave 3 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

260 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave 2 personal leave days 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.

Tuition reimbursement 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.

Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement: The recommended applicant if not a current regular employee will be required to complete an INS I-9 form and must provide proof of employment eligibility prior to working.

In addition a background check based on fingerprints will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
