The Opportunity: We are seeking an enthusiastic and vigilant German-Speaking Online Safety Representative to join our on-site team in Porto. In this vital role you will play a critical part in reviewing user-generated content and ensuring adherence to platform guidelines contributing directly to the safety and well-being of our online community. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about online safety and digital citizenship. While prior experience in content moderation or a similar field is a plus it is not a strict requirement we believe in nurturing talent and providing comprehensive training to equip you with all the necessary skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Review: Review and analyze user-generated content (e.g. videos images text audio) submitted to a major online platform ensuring compliance with established community guidelines and policies.
• Policy Enforcement: Apply platform policies consistently and accurately to identify and take appropriate action on content that violates guidelines including but not limited to hate speech misinformation bullying and graphic content.
• Critical Thinking & Decision Making: Exercise sound judgment and critical thinking skills to make rapid and accurate decisions on content often under pressure.
• Documentation: Accurately document all content review decisions and actions taken in designated internal systems ensuring clear and consistent record-keeping.
• Trend Identification: Identify emerging content trends or potential policy loopholes and escalate these insights to relevant internal teams for further investigation and policy refinement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with team leads and other online safety specialists to ensure consistent application of guidelines and share best practices.
• Maintain Well-being: Engage with available well-being support resources to manage exposure to potentially sensitive content.

What We Are Looking For:

• Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in German (both spoken and written) is essential. A strong professional working proficiency in English is also required for internal communication training and policy comprehension.
• Strong Ethical Compass: A strong commitment to online safety and a keen understanding of the impact of harmful content on online communities.
• Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to quickly understand complex guidelines and apply them to diverse content scenarios.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate content classification and policy enforcement.
• Resilience & Emotional Intelligence: Ability to handle exposure to sensitive and potentially disturbing content while maintaining emotional resilience and professionalism.
• Adaptability: The ability to learn quickly adapt to evolving content trends and policy changes and work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable navigating various internal tools content review platforms and general computer applications.
• Team Player: A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.
