MRI Technologist
About Facility/Department:
o Outpatient Imaging
o Facility offers X-Ray DEXA PET CT Ultrasound MRI
o Radius rule: Travelers permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Department Information:
o Average MRI patients/day 28- 35
o Minimum Years of Experience required 2 years
o Will you accept a first-time traveler Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Areas served: Outpatient
o Seizures Brain Cancer MS Ortho injuries oncology work- including . east Diabetic foot; Pancreatic cyst; IBS/Crohns disease Enterography defecography.
o Adult population Pediatric patients 12 and above
Required License National Certification Certs (BLS ACLS etc.) or other position specific requirements such as Drivers License and/or Insurance:
o BLS; ARRT(R) or NMTCB ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT
Skills required:
o Examines requests and verifies orders on each patient. Questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam or contacts ordering provider when there are discrepancies.
o Properly identify (Using two patient identifiers) and assist patients while offering a . ief explanation of the procedures. Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents.
o Interviews patients for a complete medical history. Reviews in-patients ER and outpatients EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history
o Assumes responsibility for the exam from beginning of exam until completion of dictated results.
o Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols.
o Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed.
o Performs basic patient care functions. Informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patients condition. Initiates life support measures for patients when necessary.
o Performs MRI screening and assumes responsibility of MRI Zone 3 and 4.

Orientation (facility and unit):
o Administrative onboarding (Epic eLearnings policy review etc.) 1 day
o 2 days to 1 week departmental (as needed)
Scheduling:
o No call required
o Holiday Expectations: Facility is closed during holidays but may be rotated to assist at hospital.
o RTO: Manager approval
o Shift times: Varies based on requisition
Schedule cycle: every 4 weeks
