This is a part-time non-tenure track faculty appointment with duties in the High Point University Oral Health Network (OHN) and Workman School of Dental (WSDM) which includes the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and post-doctoral programs. Professional rank will be commensurate with the candidates level of experience and qualifications at time of hire.
The faculty member in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology is responsible for developing curriculum content and instructional elements for the pre-doctoral dental students and post-doctoral residents in WSDM. The position will report to the executive leadership team (ELT) of the Workman School of Dental Medicine through the Assistant Dean for Education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- DDS or DMD degree (or foreign equivalent) eligibility for dental licensure (instructor) in the state of North Carolina
- Completion of a CODA-accredited or equivalent foreign program in oral and maxillofacial pathology
Experience and Training
- Preferably board-eligible from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology
- 5 years of experience in clinical practice of dentistry is preferred but not required.
- Experience in teaching pre-doctoral and post-doctoral learners through case-based learning
- Experience in dental education is preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The candidate selected for this position will perform all duties directed by the Assistant Dean for Education and WSDM executive leadership team (ELT). The candidate will be expected to perform the following duties including but not limited to:
Education
- Support curriculum content design and delivery in classroom-based and simulation-based learning environments for DMD and post-doctoral programs.
- Provide continuing education (CE) courses in HPU WSDM as a content matter expert.
- Delivery of content through asynchronous hybrid or on-site methods of instruction.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Assistant Dean for Education with input from the Executive Leadership Team
- Evaluation: Ongoing performance reviews is conducted along with an annual assessment by ELT and input from the faculty and students.
