Description

RISE Inc. a 35 year old growth oriented non-profit multi-state organization with annual revenues of $140MM serving the developmentally disabled community is seeking a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant provides organized detail oriented full cycle accounting support for multiple entities. A CPA or CPA candidate is preferred. This position will work in our corporate office which is conveniently located at Greenfield Rd. & US 60 in Mesa AZ. In addition the candidate will also have the flexibility and option to take advantage of our hybrid work-from-home/office schedule. Salary commensurate with experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare general ledger postings for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Manage program allocations prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities.
  • Prepare cash entries and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll retirement plan and HSA postings and reconciliations.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and transactional review for revenue and expenses.
  • Manage fixed assets including vehicle tracking; produce monthly fixed asset reporting.
  • Manage entries and documentation for property purchases workers compensation and other transaction types.
  • Maintain insurance policies and endorsement tracking.
  • Maintain operating lease schedules and documentation.
  • Assist in monthly close and financial statement preparation; including quarterly reporting as needed.
  • Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Assist with reporting and compliance for payroll tax property tax and income tax filings.
  • Correspond with banks and other agencies for issue resolution and responses to inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Assist with coordination and responses to external auditors and tax firm.
  • Assist with maintaining policies & procedure documentation.
  • Participate in or lead projects to implement new technologies and processes.
  • Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in accounting or related field required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in accounting including transactional work reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with multi-entity or divisional financial statements and allocations highly desirable.
  • Experience with mergers/acquisitions payroll accounting and/or lease accounting under ASC 842 a plus.
  • Excellent organizational written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
  • Computer skills needed: MS Excel (advanced skills such as lookups pivot tables and macros are preferred) MS Word Enterprise Accounting Software (Microsoft D365 Business Central experience is a plus). Experience with Google Office financial reporting tools close management software and/or Power BI a plus.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional positive and able to collaborate across departments.
