Job Description

Work Flexibility: Hybrid or Onsite

We are currently seeking a Staff Engineer Product Development (PD) to join our Joint Replacement Division based in Mahwah NJ to support the Hip Business Unit. As a Staff Engineer you will oversee projects to enhance and expand our Hip product portfolio providing technical guidance to PD engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing Regulatory Affairs Quality and Operations. This role requires a strong technical leader who balances strategic vision and project execution. You will plan coordinate monitor and execute projects while engaging all stakeholders including end users (surgeons) to ensure the successful development of medical devices from inception to launch.

What you will do

  • Independently research design develop modify and verify mechanical components for medical devices.
  • Work cooperatively with R&D Quality Manufacturing Regulatory Clinical Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.
  • Analyze and correct complex product design issues using independent judgment. Advance solutions by applying in-depth knowledge of customer needs market and competitive offerings.
  • Conduct or design advanced prototyping and testing. Apply detailed knowledge of clinical procedures to author design inputs. Support Voice of Customer sessions internally and with clinicians.
  • Be proficient with and mentor others in the usage of industry standards including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations.
  • Lead creation and refinement of engineering documentation such as the Design History file.
  • Follow and mentor others on R&D procedures like design controls and risk management per the Quality Management System.
  • Identify and support the creation of or improvements to procedures policies processes systems and technology.
  • Support and execute segments of complex multifunctional teams to advance projects through the design /development/launch process.

What you need

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering BioMedicalor related discipline
  • 4 years of work experience in R&D
  • Demonstrated mechanical engineering problem-solving skills
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling (Creo Preferred)

Preferred Qualificaitons

  • Product & Industry Expertise: Experience in medical device or regulated industries with exposureto working with healthcare professionals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in product developmentmanufacturing processes and interpreting complex engineering drawings with GD&T.
  • Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead projects from concept to completionon time within budget and with a focus on qualityusing tools like Microsoft Project.
  • Strong Communication & Self-Management: Effectively communicates technical plans andinformation to stakeholdersand independently manages multiple priorities with a high degree of initiative.

$87600 - $186700 salary plus bonus eligible benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on pay is based on skills experience and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 20%
