Hours: Minimum of 37 hours per week
Salary: 27000 - 30000 per annum
Location: The Cooper Associates County Ground Somerset Cricket Foundation with travel.

The Role
You will encourage and motivate individuals with disabilities to participate in cricket by creating strong programmes that provide enjoyable engaging and active sessions aimed at fostering personal growth in essential aspects of social development physical development and enhanced mental well-being. Additionally you will establish a cricket league focused on disability participation.
Main Responsibilities:The role will focus on creating opportunities for adults with disabilities to take part in cricket both in education & community settings. A significant part of the role will be to support and develop cricket activity within day service providers and micro providers as well as individuals.
The post holder will be expected to deliver and achieve in the following areas:
Programme Development
- Develop consult and create an inspiring multi-faceted disability programme that allows engagement from providers and individuals that supports key outcomes in physical development social development and improving mental wellbeing.
- Deliver high quality and inspiring cricket sessions to adults throughout the year.
Partnership Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with day service providers micro providers and other stakeholders to embed cricket into their regular programming.
Capacity Building
- Provide training resources and on-site support to service providers and community organisations to ensure sustainability of cricket provision.
- Promote and develop strong links to our established disability cricket hubs within the club network.
- Drive the development and growth of disability cricket activity at clubs throughout Somerset.
- Support Somerset Disabled CC and Somerset VICC with both recruitment and publicity opportunities.
- Ensure the established disability hubs are ready to receive new participants from growing community programmes.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Track engagement levels collect feedback and evaluate the impact of programmes to inform continuous improvement.
Promotion and Outreach:
- Raise awareness of disability cricket opportunities through outreach networking events and community campaigns.
Lords Taverners Programme Support
- Support the Table Cricket County Finals and softball SEND festivals.
- Support the next generation of leaders and coaches who are confident in delivering cricket through leadership courses to Students.
- Inspire and support teachers and teaching assistants through formal and informal training to raise the quality and quantity of cricket delivery in secondary schools.
Strategic targets of the role:
The success of the role will be subject to the Disability Development Officer meeting a number of key strategic targets set out by SCF & Lords Taverners.
Cricket participation
- Develop and deliver a multi-faceted menu of cricket opportunities that develop participants physical and social development and improve mental wellbeing
- Grow the number of adults with disabilities engaging in cricket and aim to engage at least 150 adults per year.
- Set measurable targets for participant growth year-on-year.
Embed Cricket into community provision
- Develop sustainable cricket programmes within at least 10 of day service providers and micro providers annually
Build Workforce Capacity
- Train and support 30 number of staff carers volunteers or students from partner organisations to confidently deliver inclusive cricket activities.
- Develop easy-to-use resources and toolkits for non-specialist staff.
Enhance Visibility and Awareness
- Increase awareness of disability cricket opportunities through outreach social media and local community engagement.
- Establish partnerships with local disability networks education institutions and health providers.
Improve Participant Outcomes
- Track and improve outcomes Social Physical and mental wellbeing among participants.
- Use feedback and impact data to demonstrate the value of the programme to funders and stakeholders.
Develop Inclusive Pathways
- Create clear progression pathways from participation to competition for those who want to develop their cricket skills further.
- Support and deliver on the Super 1s Programme through our hub programme.
- Link community programmes with to the County Disability Teams or Champion Clubs.
Knowledge Skills and Experience required:
- Successful delivery of disability cricket across both education and community settings.
- Working in a school and/or club environment.
- Working as part of a team and independently.
- Coaching different ages and genders.
- Working with volunteers and community groups.
- Delivering competitions and festivals.
Skills
- Minimum of an ECB Foundation 1 or Core Coach Cricket Coaching qualification.
- Excellent people skills with the ability to build genuine relationships.
- Excellent IT skills including advanced ability with Word Excel Outlook and other Microsoft programmes.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication skills in a variety of formats (eg. Face to face phone and email).
