Job Description
Chamber of Progress a center-left tech industry association devoted to technologys progressive future is seeking a Senior Director of Technology Policy. This role will serve as our lead policy expert and strategist on issues including AI privacy online speech content moderation online marketplaces ticketing and competition policy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the organizations advocacy work on technology policy at the federal and state level
- Design and execute strategic technology policy campaigns
- Serve as lead in-house policy expert on issues including AI privacy online speech content moderation online marketplaces ticketing and competition policy.
- Work closely with organizations partner companies on policy matters
- Drive organizations affirmative public affairs and policy campaigns in support of tech policy priorities
- Analyze pending legislation and provide rapid response on bills impacts
- Write letters blog posts statements and testimony
- Testify before policymakers and organize policy events
- Engage with Administration officials Members of Congress and staff members on organizations policy agenda
- Build political and policy relationships with federal officials
- Collaborate with in-house state and local government relations team
Requirements
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum of 12 years post-college work experience
- Aggressive mindset and bias toward action
- Experience in Democratic politics government or progressive causes
- Prior experience with technology privacy AI online speech marketplace or competition policy
- Outstanding writing abilities; must be a creative succinct and fast writer
- Prior experience driving policy or regulatory campaigns
- Must be located in Washington DC area
- Law degree not required but is a plus
Compensation
- Range of $130000 - $170000
- Medical dental vision 401(k) benefits included
