Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors degree from a recognized accredited college or university;
  2. Valid Texas teachers certificate;
  3. Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher;
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide staff development to use technology for developing products to use data to organize instructional programs designed for the purpose of improving student achievement.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days

SALARY:

Pay Grade T60 (Teacher Classification) as approved by the Board of Trustees

FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist the director of instruction in the management and coordination of special student group compliance reporting/activities (GT testing ESL testing LPAC TELPAS dyslexia etc.).
  2. Assist the director of instruction in reviewing placement records to ensure students are placed according to district guidelines.
  3. Monitor ESL students progress to ensure one years growth each year (conferences grades progress reports tutoring RtI state assessments DPMs benchmark scores etc.).
  4. Assist in coaching and supporting new and/or struggling teachers.
  5. Assist the director of instruction in using student achievement data to recommend improvement in the design materials and implementation of the instructional program and campus initiatives (differentiated instruction quantum learning model classroom project etc.).
  6. Collect and analyze various data pertaining to student achievement.
  7. Serve as a problem-solver for student learning needs and related instructional issues.
  8. Offer staff development related to campus improvement plan.
  9. Model exemplary lessons in the classroom.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by principal and director of instruction.
  11. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing stooping bending pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment.
