Job Description
- Assembles motor vehicles such as automobiles at assigned workstations performing any combination of following tasks according to specifications and using hand tools power tools welding equipment and production fixtures.
- Positions and fastens together body subassemblies such as side frames underbodies doors hoods and trunk lids to assemble vehicle bodies and truck cabs.
- Bolts screws clips or otherwise fastens together parts to form subassemblies such as doors seats instrument control panels steering columns and axle units.
- Installs mechanical and electrical components and systems such as engine transmission and axle units; pumps; wire harnesses; instrument control panels; and exhaust brake and air-conditioning systems.
- Fits and adjusts doors hoods and trunk lids.
- Seals joints and seams using caulking gun.
- Fastens seats door paneling headliners carpeting molding and other trim into position.
- Fills vehicle systems with brake and transmission fluids engine coolant and oil.
- May verify quality of own work and write description of defects observed on documents attached to vehicle bodies.
- May work as member of assembly group and be assigned different workstations as production needs require.
- May participate in group meetings to exchange job related information.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive body and ore auto mechanics industry
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must have a valid state drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of automotive service tech or other training programs a plus.
- Attention to detail with excellent customer service communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to mean the physical demands of the position including walking crouching bending and standing for extended periods of time.
- Willingess to comply with comany policies and uphold standards for service quality
