The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring an Weights and Mass Property Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to support our in weights engineering team based in Everett WA.
As a Weights and Mass Properties Engineer - Product Development you will be responsible for developing models to predict fly-away weight as well as supporting trade studies. You will work closely with design teams to track design changes and to understand sizing parameters and requirements that provide alternative weight-efficient solutions.
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops current and forecast weight balance and mass properties data
Participates in defining weight balance and mass properties related design requirements
Participates in developing customer specification commitments
Provides routine vehicle or system configuration guidance
Supports individual design team weight control efforts
Estimates calculates and measures and verifies mass weight stiffness and inertias of components assemblies and completed vehicles or systems
Participates in developing and maintaining weight balance and mass properties accounting systems
Generates weight and balance reports
Participates in developing and implementing new processes and tools
Works under general supervision
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
2 years of experience with weights and/or mass properties engineering particularly in the aerospace or automotive industries.
2 years of experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (UG/NX CATIA SolidWorks CREO etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering
Basic understanding of aircraft design weight management and loadability principles.
Experience using a mass properties database to track weight center of gravity and inertia.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
