Research and Development Chemist
Office-based - Scunthorpe
Are you a driven chemist with a passion for innovation and a desire to see your ideas come to life Our exclusive client a pioneering leader is currently looking to expand their R&D team with a talented Research and Development Chemist.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of your own projects - from concept through to scale up playing a key role in the development of new products and the enhancement of an existing product portfolio.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Leading R&D projects from idea generation through formulation testing and full-scale up production
- Developing and optimising chemical processes to improve product performance and quality
- Ensuring all work complies with GMP regulations and pharmacopoeial standards
- Collaborating with manufacturing and commercial teams to ensure technical alignment and process efficiency
- Troubleshooting and resolving production issues and process deviations
- Applying experimental design and statistical analysis to drive data-led decisions
What Were Looking For:
- MSc or PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline
- Strong background in organic synthesis and analytical chemistry
- Proven experience with process optimisation and scale-up
- In-depth knowledge of GMP pharmacopoeial standards and regulatory frameworks
- Technical expertise in:
- Spectroscopic techniques (NMR HPLC GR IR MS ICP-OES)
- Reaction calorimetry and process safety
- Chemical engineering principles
- Quality systems and regulatory compliance
