Arrow is looking for a dedicated and experienced HSE Coordinatorto support our forestry operations with additional involvement across other divisions. This is a key role for someone passionate about safety who understands the unique challenges of working in forestry and is ready to make an impact by promoting a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director HSE and Operational Risk the HSE Coordinators role is to support our forestry operations with additional involvement across other divisions. This is a key role for someone passionate about safety who understands the unique challenges of working in forestry and is ready to make an impact by promoting a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate will have experience in forestry and bring a proactive boots-on-the-ground approach to health safety and environmental compliance. The candidate will be a strong communicator able to connect with crews in the field and leadership in the office and have a solid grasp of the regulations that shape safe compliant operations.

Regulatory Compliance & Auditing

Monitor and support compliance with occupational health safety and environmental regulations including WorkSafeBC CVSE Mine Acts and other relevant standards.
Apply Arrow and customer safety policies consistently across forestry and related operations
Conduct site inspections hazard assessments and regular safety audits
Proactively identify and address risks in high-hazard forestry environments

Incident Response & Emergency Preparedness

Respond to incidents including injuries and near-misses
Ensure all measures are in place for wildfire prevention and response
Lead root-cause investigations and develop meaningful corrective actions
Support emergency preparedness planning and drills
Ensure accurate timely reporting to regulators customers and internal stakeholders

Training Culture and Continuous Improvement

Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training programs tailored for forestry operations
Lead toolbox talks safety meetings and refresher sessions in the field
Maintain training and certification records to ensure workforce compliance
Champion environmental practices including fuel handling spill response and waste management
Support development and maintenance of practical HSE procedures aligned with industry best practices
Provide internal and external customer service excellence.
Other duties as assigned by Regional Manager and/or HSE Manager.

Work Conditions

Based in the Kamloops office with travel to division locations including Fort St James.
Must be able to work outdoors all types of weather and negotiate the terrain of various worksites including steep and/or slippery terrain and climbing stairs and ladder
Flexibility to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours

You Possess

Forestry experience strongly preferred
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety an asset or a combination of experience and education.
Strong knowledge of regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and safety management systems
Valid drivers license with clean abstract
Safety-first mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
Confident communicator across all levels of the organization
Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative team-oriented and service-driven
High personal integrity and professionalism
Strong safety proclivity/safety oriented.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexibility with working hours and travel.
