Job Description
We are seeking motivated and energetic candidates to join as Manager of Portfolio Analytics to support strategic risk management of esVoltas growing fleet of operational front-of-meter utility-scale battery energy storage projects.
The Manager of Portfolio Analytics is a critical member of the Commercial Operations team reporting to the Associate Director of Portfolio Management. This role is responsible for developing and implementing advanced data analytics and portfolio optimization strategies for the Companys battery storage assets. The Manager will leverage their deep understanding of ISO markets technical expertise in programming and sophistication in data analytics to maximize portfolio value across multiple revenue streams.

The Manager will collaborate with teams across development asset management construction legal and finance to optimize the commercial performance of the portfolio and ensure accurate reporting of key metrics. This role offers the opportunity to shape portfolio strategies in an innovative and ever-evolving energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Monitoring and Optimization
  • Trade schedule and monitor portfolio of battery energy storage assets in day-ahead and real-time markets with a concentration in ERCOT.
  • Design and implement data-driven strategies to optimize physical assets in ISO markets.
  • Develop and execute financial hedging strategies using futures and options.
  • Provide pricing and analysis for complex structured transactions.
  • Collaborate with middle and back-office teams to ensure trade reconciliation accuracy.
Risk Management and Reporting
  • Create dashboards that track positions fundamentals and analytics that drive proprietary market insights and actionable hedging strategies.
  • Compile and distribute risk and revenue performance reports for management and middle-office teams.
  • Assist in maintaining risk management systems and implement processes that prevent inaccuracies and quickly resolve data discrepancies.
  • Monitor compliance with risk management policies.
  • Present complex analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Evaluate contribute and support new market opportunities and revenue streams.
Analytics and System Development
  • Develop and maintain data analytics tools to support portfolio decision-making using Python Excel and Databricks.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the companys Energy Trading Risk Management System (ETRM).
  • Support the creation of proprietary price forecasting models for North American power markets.
Revenue Forecasting and Stakeholder Management
  • Contribute to development of revenue forecasting methodologies integrating quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Work with the finance team to align revenue forecasts with financial planning.
  • Automate processes for integrating third-party datasets into the internal analytics warehouse.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in finance economics computer Science engineering mathematics or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in energy markets or related fields; battery storage experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on operational experience in ERCOT market preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming.
  • Familiarity with power market derivative instruments and financial portfolio construction.
  • Experience executing financial power transactions and using power-flow modeling software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and develop actionable insights.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated professional with the ability to excel in remote work settings maintaining productivity and effective collaboration across time zones.
  • Effective project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates strong ethics adaptability and continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to integrate work across multiple areas manage risks effectively and execute business plans.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safety-conscious work environment.
  • Team player that can easily collaborate with coworkers throughout the organization.

Compensation and Benefits
The actual salary and bonus offered will depend on the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.

Salary: $140000Bonus: 25%

Location
This position is classified as remote; however periodic travel to company offices project sites or other meeting locations may be required on an as-needed basis.
