WDTV (CBS) WVFX (FOX) EVFX (CW) AND EDTV (MeTV) combine to provide local news and weather to North Central West Virginia. We are the largest TV source for local news and entertainment for our 12-county area. WDTV features a recently upgraded news studio and a team dedicated to local news. Were dedicated to informing the public utilizing television social media and the areas only live-streaming newscast. WDTV produces six daily newscasts M-F and four newscasts each weekend. Job Summary/Description:
WDTV is looking for a Digital Content Producer. Responsibilities include producing dynamic written content for WDTVs website social media and app. Were looking for someone who can work quickly on breaking news and also has the creativity to tell a good story. We value strong journalism and an atmosphere where we all learn and grow on a daily basis through respect and collaboration.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Post stories to the website app and Facebook in a timely manner.
- Monitor other news outlets sister stations and other feeds for the latest news.
- Work with the news team to decide on what stories to produce and report.
- Work closely with the news team to produce and execute clear information to readers.
- Contribute story ideas and content on a daily basis as well as special assignments and long-range planning.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Extreme attention to detail and solid news judgment are a must.
- A successful candidate has knowledge of the various news-gathering tools and libel laws.
- A college degree in journalism or equivalent is preferred.
