This is a year-round role with three weeks of paid vacation time along with time off during all-school vacations. The Special Education Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Student Support and their responsibilities include:-Serving as the Special Education administrator in a subset of team meetings including annual reviews initial and reevaluations and manifestation determinations -Managing all referrals for special education evaluations and executing 45-day referrals -Providing feedback to Special Education Teachers and related service providers on IEP development of all meetings attended -Coaching developing and supervising teachers service providers and other staff including: -Providing feedback on Progress Reports -Supporting staff in generating and executing action steps that allow students to make effective progress -Overseeing Learning Lab Office Hours programming -Working with the Director of Student Support to collaborate on and execute professional development for faculty and staff related to -Special Education Law and related regulations -Co-planning and facilitating productive department meetings and professional development -Coach several special education employees including providing observation feedbackCo-overseeing and continually monitoring all special education compliance including: -Leading state compliance reviews and liaising with BSEA -Collaborating with the Director of Student Support to participate in and implement Tiered Focused Monitoring Reviews and Corrective Action Plans -Facilitating timely scheduling of all IEP meetings -Overseeing accommodation delivery for state and district-wide assessments -Working with the Director of Student Support to maintain the Protocols and Procedures Manual -Working with the Director of Student Support to coordinate and support IEP-related services -Maintaining and training staff on data collection processes including eSped and the Special Education Hub -Ensuring that all Special Education related paperwork is properly handled -Coordinating Extended School Year programming-Participating in the special education hiring process-Supporting programming for the Special Education Family Advisory Council-Participating in the Instructional Leadership Team and Student Support Team-Complete other duties as assigned (including managing a student caseload if applicable) and fulfill regular CCSC staff responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and/or Head of SchoolQualifications:Masters Degree required in Special Education or EducationSpecial Education Mild/Moderate license; PreK-8 or 5-12 with SEI endorsement requiredAt least four years of teaching experience requiredCompliance-related work experience in a similar setting preferredCompensation:This role is paid using CCSCs teacher salary scale with a leadership bonus added. Depending on experience compensation will range from $80000 to $90000.
