Job Description

As a hardware development manager you will co-ordinate a team of cross-functional design engineers including mechanical and electrical engineers and engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to define develop test and sustain new devices. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive key aspects of product definition design execution and system level bring-up and verification. You should be responsive flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Manager a cross-functional team working with stakeholders to define priorities and then setting clear direction for your reports
- Lead cross-functional engineering meetings and design reviews
- Dive into and take ownership for critical embedded software electrical and mechanical design DFM and DFT deliverables and issues.
- Work closely with partner hardware operations and software development teams
- Assist with recruitment management development and maintenance of a world class system design team
About the team
The team is a group of electrical mechanical and manufacturing test engineers who devise hardware that enables Just Walk Out shopping experiences.
- Experience managing successful and high-performing engineering teams
- Experience delivering products utilizing a production development process
- Experience in developing functional specifications design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience in RFID (Radio-Frequency IDentification) Technology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $135900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $234900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
