This 6-month fixed term contract (as we work through the Manawa integration) will slot into our Financial Services team working with Technical Accounting and Tax to coordinate statutory financial statements and regulatory requirements liaise with auditors get stuck into month-end processes prepare tax filings help out with day-to-day tax and technical accounting mahi (work) and lend a hand to tasks and projects across the wider Financial Services team.
Were coming up to year-end (on 30 June 2025) so provided you can make it here soon (which wed love) youll be joining when its busy. Well show you the ropes of how things work at Contact but this wont be a settle in and get the hang of it paced role we need a skilled tax & financial accountant who can hit the ground running build key relationships fast and work independently able to problem-solve on the go and apply NZ GAAP IFRS and tax legislation to deliver best practice.
Qualifications :

CA-qualified or equivalent competent in accounting systems (preferably SAP) and with a high degree of proficiency in Excel youre naturally curious comfortable identifying issues and opportunities and working independently to resolve. Progressive in your approach to problem-solving technical issues you have a natural bent toward continuous improvement and are more than comfortable communicating to various levels of management with a knack for conveying complex information simply. Experienced in tax and financial accounting you thrive in accountancy roles that go beyond the norm and have plenty of stories to share about times youve delivered exceptional service to stakeholders.
Bonus points if youve done all of this in a large complex private organisation. Within the Energy industry Even better.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract (as we work through integration with Manawa Energy) with an ASAP start based in our Wellington office with flexible working meaning you can split your time between home and the office however works best.
