Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking an experienced professional to serve as one of the Reimbursement Field Office Directors. This position oversees the reimbursement related functions for Piedmont Geriatric Hospital Central State Hospital Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute and Virginia Center Behavioral Rehab and provides guidance and supervision to all assigned staff. Duties are comprised of management of reimbursement staff to include all aspects of the facilities accounts receivable processes; managing and maintaining the departments automated accounts receivable system while complying with all state and federal regulations applicable to collection of accounts; providing support for facility and Central Office initiatives; act proactively in assessing the changing healthcare environment; and offer guidance and support as necessary to assure the continuity of reimbursements role in facility operations. This is a hybrid position.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in management of health care accounts receivable collections with emphasis pertaining to CMS regulations associated with Medicare and Medicaid. Demonstrated ability to utilize automated data systems as well as experience with third party payor reimbursement. Ability to analyze financial and legal records and arrive at logical and legally supportable conclusions. Knowledge of state and federal laws governing health care. Proven strong management skills including demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff and cultivate teamwork. Knowledge and work experience relative to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and governmental accounting methodology. Effective communication skills both verbally and written. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with the public. Considerable progressive responsibility regarding management/supervisory experience in a health care financial environment.
