ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining META Solutions IT server infrastructure ensuring that all systems run smoothly and securely while operating monitoring performance diagnosing and solving technology problems.
Following an extended training period this position will have the opportunity to work 3 days remote and 2 days from our Columbus office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate day-to-day functions as requested by the Systems Administration Manager.
- System Maintenance: Oversee the installation configuration and maintenance of servers networks and other IT infrastructure components.
- User Management: Set up and manage user accounts permissions and access controls to ensure security and compliance.
- Troubleshooting: Work with META IT staff to diagnose and resolve hardware software and network issues promptly to minimize downtime of META IT infrastructure.
- Backup and Recovery: Schedule and manage regular backups of data and systems ensuring that recovery processes are tested and effective.
- Customer Service: Respond to user questions and explain the operation of network applications and equipment
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for system configurations procedures and user guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Provide regular status and data reports as requested by the Systems Administration Manager or META CIO
- Collaboration: Work with other META IT staff and industry professionals to plan design purchase and deliver IT infrastructure to ensure systems are integrated and meet organizational needs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows Linux) networking protocols Virtual Infrastructure (VMWare/Hyper-V/ProxMox) and system security practices (NIST 800-53).
- Cloud Services (M365 Google Workspace SSO/MFA)
- Directory Services: LDAP Entra AD On-Premise AD/ADFS & Group Policy
Preferred Skills (Preferred):
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum associates degree in information technology and/or equivalent experience in a systems administration role or related IT position
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical staff
- Must maintain a valid Drivers License with minimal travel requirements
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively
- Ability to multitask and execute duties according to deadlines
- Ability to work individually or in a team of system administrators
- Stays informed of new developments in technology
- Displays a keen eye for details and accuracy and is self-motivated
- Accepts constructive criticism and able to maintain a positive professional attitude
