Brockton School is a nondenominational coeducational Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 independent school located in North Vancouver British Columbia. The following position is available for expressions of interest:


Senior School Teacher(s) - Visual Arts and/or Culinary Arts and/or Performing Arts

- Full or Part Time Starting August 25 2025


Brockton School is seeking a teacher or teachers for the position(s) of Visual Arts and/or Culinary Arts and/or and Performing Arts in the 2025-26 school year. The Teacher(s) will work collaboratively with members of the Senior School team including with the Arts Department Chair and with other members of Faculty/Staff. As a member of the teaching team this teacher will report to the Senior School Principal.

This role may be a full time or part time role and may comprise subject-specific teaching (e.g. performing arts or culinary arts) rather than the full role.

The Senior School Visual Arts and/or Culinary Arts and/or Performing Arts Teacher(s) will work with colleagues including but not limited to specialist teachers and counsellors IB Coordinators and other key members of staff.


Qualifications / Experience / Skills:

  • BC Teacher Certification as supported by the BC Teachers Regulation Branch
  • Interest in being part of a dynamic and visionary IB school community
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada


Ideal characteristics:
  • IB experience or training (preferred)
  • Possess a Bachelors degree or higher qualification in education
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience at the intermediate and secondary level (grades 6-12).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High EQ skills possess the ability to be self-aware
  • Strong problem-solving organizational and administrative skills
  • The ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills


Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Bring different perspectives voices and worldviews to the classroom learning experience including those of Indigenous local and global populations
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment through strong relationship building and classroom management
  • Plan organize and implement engaging lessons that incorporates the BC Ministry of Educations curriculum objectives as well as IB standards
  • Foster a love of learning and an environment that that encourages all students to develop and fulfill their academic potential
  • Track assessment and feedback through use of formative and summative methods includes student reflections and voice when targeting growth and development
  • Regular communication with parents and other stakeholders regarding student progress including but not limited to meetings report cards and conferences
  • Collaborate with teaching partner(s) and the IB Director of Continuum
  • Attend staff meetings professional development opportunities and serves on committees as required
  • Involvement in extended day programming activities
  • Model behaviours attitudes and principals for students in all contexts
  • Other duties as assigned by the divisional Principal

Salary Range : Brockton Faculty Salary Grid

Example - For TQS Category 5 (Step 0) $65201 to $107168 (Step 10 ) per annum.
