Job Description
This position is assigned to Charlotte NC TEACCH Center to assist individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families in accessing TEACCH services along with navigating community resources to meet their complex needs. These needs may include such topics as establishing a medical home finding a specialist such as a psychiatrist neurologist or developmental behavioral pediatrician accessing support for nutrition and health advocating for educational or vocational guidance identifying opportunities for socialization and support groups strengthening home and family life assessing recreation opportunities and reviewing community activities and transportation needs. This position will assist families through the TEACCH referral process offer support and information about TEACCH services help clients and their families connect with TEACCH clinicians should problems arise and facilitate continuity of care with respect to integrating additional community resources.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to interact with a diverse group of constituents from TEACCH clients and their families to center staff trainees & TEACCH leadership.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred. Experience working/interacting with clients with ASD or families of individuals with ASD strongly preferred.
