Job Description
Prime HealthCare Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine is currently looking for a full time Front Desk Receptionist for our Avon location. Hours are Monday thru Friday 8:30 to 5:00.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Answering the phone in a timely polite and professional manner directing calls to the appropriate person and taking accurate messages within the electronic medical record.
- Scheduling new and existing patients in EMR according to scheduling protocols.
- Checking in and registering new and existing patients verifying demographic and insurance information and collecting copays.
- Checking out patients and scheduling any follow up appointments.
- Monitoring and scheduling from a referral work-queue.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrating the ability to adjust to unexpected changes to assure that all responsibilities and duties are met during absences and increased patient volumes.
Requirements
- Friendly outgoing team player attitude.
- Medical Office or Customer Service experience preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with in a team environment.
- Experience with Athena preferred.
