Job Description

Position Available: Teacher for Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)

Location: Illinois Employment: Full-Time On-Site School Year:

Clarifi Staffing Solutions is partnering with an Illinois school district to recruit an experienced and student-focused Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the academic year. This full-time in-person role offers the chance to support learners with visual impairments across multiple grade levels by providing specialized instruction and accessibility services that foster independence and academic engagement.

Role Overview:

In this role you will deliver individualized instruction in areas such as Braille assistive technology and if certified orientation and mobility. You ll develop and implement tailored IEPs that reflect each student s visual and educational profile. Responsibilities include conducting Functional Vision Assessments and Learning Media Assessments adapting curriculum to ensure accessibility and continually monitoring student progress to inform and adjust instruction. You ll collaborate closely with classroom teachers related service providers and families to build inclusive supports and maintain thorough compliant documentation. Creating a structured empowering learning environment that encourages student confidence and self-sufficiency will be central to your work.

Requirements

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Visual Impairments.
  • Bachelor s degree in Visual Impairments or Special Education required; Master s degree preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Braille assistive technologies and designing accessible instructional materials.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with a spectrum of visual needs including those with additional disabilities.
