POSITION: Family Support Liaison
QUALIFICATIONS:
- NH Certification in: School Psychologist School Social Worker School Counselor General Special Education or related comprehensive experience
- Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university with a major in social work special education counseling or related field
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers agency personnel students parents and the public
- Strong verbal / written communicationskills
- Knowledge of current substance abuse prevention theory and practice
- Knowledge of federal laws of confidentiality particularly pertaining to adolescents
- Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriateto assigned duties and responsibilities
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide asystem of identification referral and support at-risk students. To assist schools/students/parents/ community to develop and maintain a
collaborative relationship to best met the educational and social needs of all students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assistance to students troubled by physical emotional social family legal or chemical use problems.
- Individual and group counseling to at-risk students regarding substance abuse use and family issues.
- Implement appropriateprograms and initiativesto target the at-risk population.
- Act as student advocate when involved in court issues.
- Assist in referrals to community agenciesof studentsand families who are experiencingsubstance abuseand other problems or who are otherwise in the need of services for counseling and service.
- Coordination of services with community agencies.
- Promote regular school attendance.
- Encourage parents to be actively involved in theirchildrens educational experiences.
- Maintain accurate and appropriatecase records and documentation.
- Grant writing will be conducted as appropriate.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Conway Education Association (CEA) contract
WORK YEAR: 187 day / school year position
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Boards policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. The principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
