As a Senior Health & Welfare Plans Analyst you will be a key part of the HR Total Rewards team supporting Health & Welfare Plans by assisting with the design administration governance and communication of our health and welfare plans including medical dental vision life leave voluntary and wellness benefits.Job Profile Summary
Administers company benefit plans including group health group life disability retirement 401K profit-sharing executive compensation and/or other related employee plans.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Monitor and administer activities related to the administration of employee benefit plans with limited supervision including but not limited to (as specified by position):
Health dental and vision care
Group and dependent life insurance
Accidental death and dismemberment
Annual open enrollment
Monitor trends in employee benefit plans to ensure plans are competitive and comply with governmental laws and regulations. Prepare related recommendations for changes in plan design
Provide information and guidance to management employees retirees regulatory agencies consultants/actuaries health care providers and others on matters including but not limited to:
Claims
Benefit statements
Eligibility issues
Disability benefits
Governmental regulations and guidelines
New hire procedures
Annual open enrollment
Claim appeals
Compile process verify prepare and/or provide guidance in the preparation of information and reports including but not limited to:
Employee benefit coverage/costs
Correspondence to employees health care providers vendors etc.
Benefits statements and confirmation letters
Defined benefits estimate and funding
Legal review of benefit contracts
Conduct employee communications meetings annual enrollment meetings and/or retirement seminars
May lead direct and guide staff members at lower levels
Education
Bachelors Degree in human resources business administration related field or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience: Business Administration/Management
Work Experience
Experience with and advanced knowledge of employee benefit plans policies and procedures
Experience with and advanced knowledge of governmental laws and regulations pertaining to employee benefits
Experience interacting with both internal and external customers
Experience in use and function of office tools equipment and applicable software applications to position including using computers
Experience and/or training related to:
Human Resources System (HRS)
Benefit plans
Interpersonal/communication skills
Handling confidential information
Problem resolution
Experience researching and/or analyzing employee benefit plans surveys policies reports procedures and correspondence
Experience reviewing and interpreting company policies and procedures governmental regulations and guidelines actuarial evaluations legal opinions contracts and other benefitrelated documents
Experience interacting advising and communicating effectively
Experience developing information conducting meetings and making presentations
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to: communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information; conduct oral presentations
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)-IFEBP or
Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI preferred
