The Palmer School District is looking to add a math intervention specialist to our team who believes in a children first philosophy to the team. We are committed to providing students with a positive learning environment focused on meeting the needs of all learners. The successful teammate will work as part of an intervention team. We believe the ideal candidate will be familiar with gathering and analyzing math data for grades 9-12 have a strong understanding and experience using the Math 180 DreamBox and OpenUp Resources curricula have a strong background in using the curriculum and data to build interventions for students that are struggling provide and model instruction for teachers and assist in the planning for the placement of students in tiered intervention cycles. This intervention opportunity will provide students a chance to receive daily remediation/extension on all levels of need create and act as an extension of our classroom learning environment and offer instruction to students effectively utilizing digital media. We believe the ideal candidate will be an active learner in our school and strive to build a dynamic learning experiences for all our students. Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Experience and practice working with students at the middle/high school level including coaching teachers. Knowledge of the Dream Box and Open Up Resources math curricula with a background in student centered work. Ability to work as a positive role model for students and be an active participant in a team approach to learning. Works well with community members parents and students. Excellent written verbal and mathematical positions are subject to qualifications duties and rates of compensation presently in force and subject to appropriate funding.
