Real Estate is one of the core activities of NIBC. Over the years we have established a long-standing track record in this dynamic industry. NIBC is active in the origination structuring execution and monitoring of lending transactions in the real estate markets. The Real Estate team has expanded its financing activities to the UK three years ago with a focus on the Living sector such as student housing and build to rent. While active in the development and investment our key clients include developers private equity firms asset managers and other institutional investors. Since launching in September 2022 the team has closed various deals including the development of the EQT Saturn BTR portfolio across Greater London a large-scale BTR scheme at Wembley Park London developed by Quintain and a landmark regional BTR scheme at Great Charles Street in Birmingham. Last year our team further expanded its financing offer across continental Europe into regions like Southern Europe Nordics Benelux DACH and the UK including Ireland. Notably we financed three Greystar co-living schemes in Madrid in December 2023.
To strengthen and grow the European Real Estate team (part of NIBCs overall Real Estate business) NIBC is looking for an Analyst who will be actively involved in and jointly responsible for the finding and screening of new propositions structuring & deal execution and portfolio management of existing exposures.
What will you do
As an Analyst you are a valuable member of the Real Estate franchise. You will be involved in the end-to-end execution of new financing transactions and portfolio management activities of existing transactions. In addition you will make meaningful contributions to the deal origination process (including market peer business operational and structural analysis) and help grow and enhance NIBCs presence within the sector. You will work in a small newly established team that has a clear vision to grow the business and find new clients. As an Analyst you will assume responsibility for:
Reviewing performance of existing clients and exposures (portfolio management);
Becoming an active deal team member by assisting deal team captain with writing credit proposals and closing of new transactions. This includes risk assessments financial modelling analysis and judgement of due diligence as well as legal documentation;
Assist senior peers in origination of new transactions;
Prepare internal documents such as credit reviews waiver/amendments and other ad hoc analysis as required in a timely and efficient manner;
Working on the strategy of the business by researching new markets speaking to different parties in the sector externally and internally and regularly presenting your findings;
Involvement and attendance at lender meetings site visits and relevant conferences;
Being an internal NIBC contact person by communicating with other divisions (i.e. operations legal compliance KYC) while being an external contact person for (existing) clients.
Close cooperation with other colleagues in the UK and the Netherlands across all functions.
Who are we looking for
A relevant Bachelors or Masters degree. We hire talents from diverse university backgrounds ranging from economics and business administration to law or technology.
Experience in the real estate and banking industry is preferred but not a must. However a maximum of two years of working experience is optional (preferably in private equity banking corporate finance consulting or the real estate industry). Activities showing affinity with finance and real estate (such as thesis business courses or extra-curricular activities) would be a plus;
Strong credit numerical and analytical skills;
A committed dependable self-starting and flexible team player;
A critical mindset and the candidate should feel comfortable to give and receive feedback;
Good commercial skills and the ability to make difficult decisions;
Good time management skills;
High standards of written and verbal communication skills (English) additional languages is a plus;
