Euro-BioImaging ERIC offers life scientists open access to imaging instruments expertise training opportunities and data management services that they do not find at their home institutions or among their collaboration partners. All scientists regardless of affiliation area of expertise or field of activity can benefit from these pan-European open access services. Euro-BioImaging offers state-of-the-art imaging services through its internationally renowned facilities called Nodes. These Nodes are distributed across Euro-BioImagings 19 members. The management entity of Euro-BioImaging the so-called Hub is distributed across three sites: the legal seat is based in Finland the Med-Hub in Italy and the Bio-Hub is hosted by EMBL in Heidelberg Germany. This post is for the Bio-Hub at EMBL.
Your role
IMAGINE is an EC funded project coordinated by EMBL for developing and establishing Next generation Imaging technologies to probe structure and function of biological specimen across scales in their natural context.
The goal of this cross-disciplinary initiative is to develop next generation of scale-crossing imaging technologies needed to enable an integrated investigation of structure and function of biological systems and to bring those technologies not only to highly specialized central facilities and standard laboratory models but also out in the field at Europes coastline and on the ocean. For achieving this goal the IMAGINE consortium brings together leading European technology developing institutions with leading industrial companies and the pan-European RIs in structural biology bioimaging and marine biology.
Integrating the expertise and domains of the individual project partners the IMAGINE project focuses on developing and integrating four major microscopy technologies: X-ray imaging cryo electron microscopy cryo and dynamic super-resolution microscopy and large volume intravital light microscopy. It furthermore develops the AI-powered image analysis and data integration/sharing capabilities.
The Euro-BioImaging Bio-Hub (EMBL) is coordinating the validation of the newly developed technologies tools and workflows for service readiness in collaboration with Euro-BioImaging Nodes (WP7) setting up procedures for advanced training of Research Infrastructure staff on the developed technologies together with the project partner Instruct and EMBRC (WP10) and fostering Integration of the newly developed services in core facilities across European RIs (WP11).
The successful applicant will lead IMAGINE WP7 and WP11 and manage relevant aspects of the Euro-BioImaging operation deliverable and milestones in the consortium supporting Euro-BioImaging tasks related to project implementation through IMAGINE.

Contribute to implementation of validation guidelines and processes for effective incorporation of new technologies into future Euro-BioImaging services in close collaboration with experts and the Euro-BioImaging Nodes
Foster and monitor validation of developed Bioimaging technologies with selected use cases at Euro-BioImaging Nodes
Support procedures and workflows (roadmap) for integrating the validated IMAGINE technologies into cross-RI services pipelines
Promote the exchange of experience between the different RIs with the goal of seamless integration of new technologies for service
Provide consultation administrative and management support for recruiting and implementing cross-RI demonstrator user projects from academia or industry implementing the newly developed services and correlative pipelines for validating the workflows interoperability
