- Completion of Grade 12 and a recognized Diploma related to Police Studies Security or Criminology and a minimum of 3 years leadership and supervisory experience within a recognized law enforcement environment OR;
- Completion of Grade 12 and 5 years of enforcement experience in a recognized Law Enforcement environment; must have been a serving Police Officer in Canada or employed as a Peace Officer Level I within Alberta for the past 5 years
- Certificate related to managing people or leadership in the field of law enforcement
- Possession of valid Standard First Aid and Basic CPR certificates and AED qualified
- Must have or attain Incident Command System Certificate level ICS-200; current certification in Control Tactics consistent with the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police Use Force Continuum
- Must possess or be able to obtain the Provincial Community Peace Officer I designation with completion of the Community Peace Officer Induction Program - CPOIP as well as a Bylaw officer appointment
- Must be able to obtain or have successfully completed the Physical Abilities Readiness Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) within 4 minutes and 45 seconds (4:45)

- Proven supervisory experience including personnel management duties such as hiring training and performance reviews

- Obtaining and maintaining a City Drivers permit is a requirement of this position

What will you do
- Leads and supervises a diverse platoon of Transit Peace Officers in on-street operational settings
- Provides direct supervision ongoing direction and performance evaluations including attendance management for staff
- Oversees the deployment of officers coordinating and monitoring their activities to ensure high-performing teams and operational readiness
- Offers leadership coaching mentoring and training to promote staff growth and development maintaining accountability for key outcomes
- Identifies and implements efficiencies and improvements in staff and unit processes
- Manages the day-to-day budget and human resource needs of the team
- Provides guidance and direction in hiring and retention processes assessing roles responsibilities and workflows
