Job Description

Senior Associate Fund Accounting (SS&C Technologies Inc. Windsor CT): The Senior Associate Fund Accounting will exercise sound judgment regarding the proper application of accounting principles towards complex transaction processing and financial reporting for our hedge fund clients. Specific responsibilities include: Ensuring deliverables are met in an accurate and timely manner. Reviewing operations team work to make sure that the transactions processed in the accounting system are processed according to the GAAP and FASB accounting terms. Managing multiple client relationships (combined NAV of 2.5B) across multiple systems such as Advisorware Geneva and TNR. Providing training to accountants and assisting them in understanding of the accounting system and assisting them on daily reconciliation process valuation and reporting of financial and capital statements. Establishing procedures (Checks and Balances) for the reconciliation module to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded for GAAP and FASB accounting purposes. Reviewing of all components included in the NAV calculation. Calculating and reviewing of specific Fund components (Investors allocations management fees customized reports). Working with the Investor relationship group to generate monthly investors statements and review for accuracy. Working closely with Fund Manager regarding Fund expense accruals/payments audits and specific client requests. Participating in client projects such as working with OMS teams to streamline reporting. Working closely with internal and external auditors to accomplish internal SAS70 and external interim and year end audits. Preparing audit packages and liaising with auditors on queries and provide back-up information. Assisting in preparation of audited GAAP Financial statements in accurate and timely manner for the client and reviewing for accuracy and completeness according to GAAP accounting. Providing guidance to associates and review and sign off on team members work. Coordinating with the upper management and the Software Team in product enhancement functionality testing and feedback.

Minimum requirements: Masters degree or equivalent in Finance Data Analytics Accounting Business Analytics or related field plus 2 years of experience in a fund accounting role.

Must have: 2 years of experience constructing balance sheets and income statements for client investment portfolios. 2 years of hedge fund / private equity or investment accounting experience. 2 years of experience using Bloomberg to research and extract investment related information for valuations. 1 year of experience preparing annual financial statements. 2 years of experience with profit and loss allocations to investors. Demonstrated knowledge of the derivative products including futures options and swap. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel creating Pivot Tables building Macros VLook Up and using Financial Formulas build in excel.
