The Team...
The Human Resources Division is supported by a staff of 20 and has an annual budget of $5.4 million. The Division is dedicated to exceptional service innovation and operational excellence that leads to attracting engaging and retaining a diversified and highly qualified workforce. The committed and inspired HR influencers in the Division work diligently to ensure organizational alignment with strategic goals and values. What we are looking for:
Open to current students in an accredited college or university with at least junior standing or completion of a bachelors degree in the last 12 months enrolled in graduate level courses in the fields of occupational health studies environmental studies industrial health studies safety management safety technology or a closely related field with a 2.0 GPA or higher.
Must be able to arrange reliable transportation to and from worksite and/or offsite appointments and training.

SPECIAL NOTE
This is an unclassified at-will position. The appointed candidate will serve at the discretion of the Port of Long Beach and can be terminated at any time. In such an event the candidate has no right to any appeal or grievance procedure under any rule or regulation of the City of Long Beach. This position does not participate in the hybrid work schedule as it provides internal services along with the other staff in Environmental Health & Safety Bureau.
