What Youll Do
The Walt Disney Company and Epic Games are collaborating on an all-new games and entertainment universe. In addition to being a world-class games experience this new persistent universe will offer a multitude of opportunities for consumers to play watch and engage with content characters and stories from Disney Pixar Marvel Star Wars Avatar and more. Players gamers and fans of all kinds will be able to create their own stories and experiences express their fandom in a distinctly Disney way and share content with each other in ways that they love. Come join us in creating the future of interactive entertainment. Epic Games is seeking a Senior Technical Animator with a passion for expressive character movement. In this talented team of veteran and emerging artists youll collaborate across teams and contribute directly to the next Epic project. Joining this team means youre motivated to seek solutions to problems and work with other artists to make positive changes to models movements and tools. The heart of this role is rigging pipeline and tooling.
In this role you will
- Rig characters props and vehicles
- Set up assets in Unreal Engine 5; including cloth physics and blueprints
- Work closely with modelers and animators to ensure a smooth development pipeline that delivers high-quality assets
- Assist with pipeline tools and work with engine and project leads on the continuous improvement of those engine tools
What were looking for
- Extensive experience rigging characters in Maya Houdini or other DCC
- A portfolio demonstrating rigging for a range of characters bipeds and creatures both body and faces
- Attention to aesthetic detail especially with regard to character deformation and physics movement
- Familiarity with the Unreal Engine 5 art pipeline
- Positive individual with strong written communication and teamwork skills
- Exceptional problem-solver
- Experience developing character pipelines and tools
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (excluding CA NY & WA).
