Job Description

Title:

Senior WHS Advisor

Help deliver safer outcomes across critical water infrastructure projects.

Role Overview:

Were seeking a Senior WHS Advisor to join our collaborative KBR-SA Water team in Adelaide. In this client-facing role you will support the safe delivery of high-risk capital works programs across multiple project frameworks. This includes working alongside SA Water and KBR personnel to influence safe behaviours embed WHS culture and ensure risk is effectively managed on site.

The position will report to the WHS Manager (Capital Delivery) and work closely with another Senior WHS Advisor. You will engage directly with portfolio managers project delivery teams and contractors to drive consistent implementation of SA Waters WHS management systems and safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion and advocate SA Water WHS policies and Safe Work Behaviour Programs across all active projects.

  • Build strong working relationships with delivery teams and contractors to support positive safety culture.

  • Provide WHS support across a portfolio of high-risk infrastructure projects involving major plant structures deep excavation temporary works and working near water or at heights.

  • Evaluate site activities and advise on WHS governance andassurance including hazard identification incident management and risk mitigation.

  • Participate in risk reviews site leadership visits and other assurance activities in collaboration with SA Water and KBR teams.

  • Support incident investigations and continuous improvement of safety systems.

  • Contribute to WHS reporting and data insights that support decision-making and WHS performance tracking.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar WHS advisory role ideally within construction or infrastructure sectors.

  • Proven experience managing WHS across high-risk construction environments.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant WHS legislation codes of practice and risk management frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence safe behaviours across multidisciplinary teams and contractors.

  • Strong communication collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum) Diploma level highly regarded.

  • Construction industry WHS experience essential; water or utilities experience highly desirable.
