Job Description
USAM DC is looking for Architectural Millwork Senior Estimator. Under the general supervision of the VP of Sales and Estimating and in accordance with established standards the Senior Estimator is primarily responsible for preparing USAMs project bids and proposals for large and complex projects based on estimated materials costs labor costs and project specifications.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This role may also require walking the shop floor daily.

TRAVEL:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews and marks up architectural plans using Bluebeam for large and complex millwork and casework projects.
- Completes takeoffs for all millwork and casework items by room and elevation.
- Reviews architectural plans for specialty materials and sub-contract items to be priced and obtains quotes as necessary.
- Consistently delivers high quality customer service both responding to inquiries in a timely manner as well as keeping the customers need as top priority.
- Creates required Requests for Information (RFIs) from/for the general contractor.
- Based on materials and labor costs prepares and transmits detailed project proposals including all work to be performed and excluded work within pre-established and committed time frames.
- Problem-solves with customers and contractors and participates in job walks as necessary.
- Communicates with vendors customers and contractors as necessary to ensure accurate estimates.
- Bids require minimal amount of corrections by reviewer with no missed scope.
- Lands the minimum goal of work set by the VP of Sales and Estimating each year.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key customers.
- Lands projects that close out at or above bid contribution margin.
- Bids and budgets projects of all complexity with any level of architectural drawings.
- Performs follow up with customers per USAM standards
- Provides weekly updates to the VP of Sales and Estimating with high win confidence bids.
- Maintains files (including marking and labeling plans) consistent with USAM estimating standards.
- Enters required information in the system to create bids and proposals.
- Partners with team members in project team to ensure quality outcomes
- Facilitates continuous learning via thorough review and recap of completed projects with the project team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Architecture similar or relevant years of experience
- 5 plus years of millwork estimating and sales experience
- Expert knowledge and understanding of estimating cabinet projects and millwork as well as products such as ornamental metal stainless steel wood glass stone and solid surfaces (i.e. Corian)
- Ability to read architectural drawings specs and scope sheets required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook Word Excel) and Bluebeam
- Proficient with TradeSoft ProjectPAK
- Must have great accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills attention to detail ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work without direct supervision and efficiently manage tasks and time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- While performing the duties of this job the employee works in a typical office environment and occasionally works on or near the shop floor where there may be moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock outdoor weather conditions fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.
- This position offers remote working however would require occasional office visits for training or scope reviews/presentations with clients when needed for important jobs.
TRAVEL:
- Light travel is required for this position.
